These special gatherings are designed for people in the early stages of Alzheimer’s to share memories, music, and fun with caregivers, spouses, family members.

In addition to great social interaction, information about Alzheimer’s disease and Association support services is also made available.

The following is a list of memory cafés within the Southern United States:

Arkansas

The Memory Café at Alzheimer’s Arkansas offices, 201 Markham Center Drive, Little Rock. AR 72205. It meets every 3rd Wednesday of the month from 10 am to noon. For information, Call Priscilla Pittman at 501-224-0021 or email priscilla.pittman@alzark.org or www.alzark.org

Florida

Kentucky

Alzheimer’s Disease Center, Sanders-Brown Center on Aging, 101 Sanders-Brown Center Building, 800 S. Limestone Street Lexington KY 40536-0230.  It meets the 2nd Monday of each month, excluding December and January, from 3 – 5 pm Contact Caitlin McGuire at (859) 257-8971.

Louisville Memory Café meets the last Monday of every month at the Louisville Alzheimer’s Association Office in Kaden Towers, 6100 Dutchman’s Lane, Louisville KY 40205 on the 4th floor at 2 pm. For information call (502) 852-2273

Louisiana

The Memory Café meets at the Alzheimer’s Services of the Capital Area, 3772 North Blvd., Baton Rouge LA. 70806. It meets on the 4th Saturday of the month from 10 – 11:30 am.  Call (225) 334-7494 ext 15 (Dana Territo) for more information.

North Carolina

Tennessee

Knoxville’s Alzheimer’s Café is held at Courtyard Senior Living’s Inskip location at 815 Inskip Drive, Knoxville, TN 37912. It meets on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 6:30 pm. Call (865) 688-2666

Texas

The Neighborhood Memory Café at the Richardson Senior Center. 820 W. Arapaho Rd. Richardson TX 75080. It meets the 1st Thursday of the month from 10:00-11:30 am. Contact the Senior Center (972) 744-7800 or Sydney Farrier (469) 853-9750.

The Houston Memory Café at the YMCA, 16725 Longenbaugh Drive Houston, TX 77095. It meets the 3rd Sunday of the month at 3:00 pm. Contact Ann Marie McDonald (713) 314 1313.

The Lufkin Memory Café meets at the Standpipe Coffee House, 123 S 1st St, Suite A, Lufkin, TX, 75901. It meets on the Thursday night every month from 5:00-7:00 pm. Call Mandy Humes (936) 632-9930.

The Memory Café at the Frisco Senior Center, 6670 Moore Street, Frisco, TX 75034 meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 11:00 am- noon. For more information call (972) 292-6550.

The Memory Café at the Allen Senior Center, 451 E. St. Mary St., Allen, Texas 75013 meets on the 2nd Monday of each month from 10:00 am – noon. For more information call (214) 509-4820.

Oak Lawn Memory Café at the Oak Lawn United Methodist Church, 3014 Oak lawn Ave. Dallas TX 75219. It meets on the 2nd Wednesday each month from 10-11:30 am. Call Tara Arancibia at (214) 559-7015 for information.

The 2-Step Memory Café at the Zera Coffee Company, 420 E. McKinney Rd., Denton TX 76201, meets on the 3rd Monday each month from 5:00 pm on (No end time listed). For more information call Geri Sams (940) 566 0902.

The North Dallas Neighborhood Memory Café meets at Jewish Family Services building, 5402 Arapaho Rd. Dallas TX 75248 on the 3rd Tuesday of the month from 10:00-11:15 am. Contact Sharyn at (469) 619-5474 or sharyn.applecare@gmail.com. Third Tuesday each month.

Virginia

The Great Falls/Reston/Herndon Memory Café at the Andrew Chapel Methodist Church, 1301 Trap Road, Vienna, VA 22182. It meets on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month from 2:00- 3:30 pm. Contact Carol Blackwell (571) 236-6933.
