Lotsa Helping Hands is a Must-Visit Site

Overwhelmed? Lotsa Helping Hands is website that helps caregivers with a community approach.

Once signed up, users can post specific tasks they need help with to a specially designed “Help Calendar” on the site – like preparing meals for the family or providing rides to medical appointment. Volunteers can view the callouts, and offer free help.

Lotsa Helping Hands has a privacy-controlled space for users to post important information about their loved one, like medications, doctors, allergies and insurance. This allows them to keep the info in a secure place where it can be easily shared with any others who are also providing care.

Anyone who is feeling isolated can also contribute to message boards, post personal blogs or send other community members well wishes online.

So far, the site has 1.3 million members in 70,000 communities. It has helped families to coordinate 1,400,000 meals, 325,000 rides and 200,000 childcare shifts.
